Compact in size but loaded with powerful rangefinding features, the Bushnell Medalist sets a new standard in a complete rangefinder package. Like its predecessor--the PinSeeker 1500--the Medalist is equipped with PinSeeker technology to combine pinpoint accuracy and consistency enabling you to range up to 250 yards (±1 yard) to the flag without the use of reflectors. Designed exclusively with the bottom of the cup in mind, Bushnell's Pinseeker mode allows easy acquisition of the flag without inadvertently capturing background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD screen. Powered by a 9-volt battery, the lightweight Medalist boasts a 4x magnification and features a rubber armoring, making it easy to grip. It also comes with a premium carrying case. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

This is nice, an does work alright. The units that have 7x magnification are much easier/quicker to use.

Effective & easy to use

The rangefinder has really helped me with my course management. I have an excellent GPS program on my smartphone, but the rangefinder is helpful for hitting to specific targets. I also use it out on the driving range because the tee boxes at my range are constantly moved back and forth (grass range), so I need the rangefinder to help me figure out my distances.I find that it is relatively easy to use if you have steady hands. It may take more than one try to get an accurate read, but it only takes a couple seconds to measure a target.

Battery

This is a good range finder but the original battery only lasted a couple of weeks because it was not the reccomended lithium but a cheap alkaline.

Bushnell Medalist Fan

I play golf at least four times each week and the Bushnell Medalist Rangefinder has help my game more that any other single piece of equipment. I would highly recomment this device to anyone wanting to know the distance to either the pin or other landmarks such as sand traps, rock ledges or other objects.

Using this rangefinder for archary deer hunting. Never thought it would be this easy to calulate distance insuring a good shot at distances between 15 & 100yards in wooded areas.I would recomend this range finder to any hunter.
